Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Shweta Singh Kirti took to Instagram and said that he was the only actor in the world who was trained by NASA as an astronaut. Even there was a possibilty that he could have been sent to Moon MIssion in 2024, she further said in her post.
Kirti shared Sushant's picture in an astronaut's uniform calling the actor her pride. "The only actor in the world ever who actually got trained by NASA as Astronaut n even was set to go for 2024 Moon Mission! @itsSSR Our Sushant Our Pride!” “Our Sushant Our Pride”," Kirti said in the Instagram post.
Sushant was getting training from NASA with regards to a film called "Chanda mama door ke". As per reports the film got shelved but Sushant was determined to complete his training and went back to get his certificate. He even had plans to be a part of Moon Mission 2024. Talking about his dreams, Sushant once said he wanted to send 100 kids to NASA workshop. "When I was a kid I really wanted to be an astronaut but I did not know where to go. I always wanted to go NASA but was declined again and again, so I got myself a really powerful telescope, which can zoom in on any creator on a bright moon night. It was two years back that I had a chance to go to NASA and I did a small workshop there. One year later I sent two kids to NASA, they were very bright kids and one of them won a gold medal there and he now trains to become an astronaut. I am now planning to send at least 100 kids this time to NASA," the actor had said in one of his interviews.
Sushant was an avid reader and has an inclination towards astrophysics and had also won National Olympiad in Physics. He was pursuing the degree of engineering but later dropped out to pursue acting. He started his career from TV from "Pavitra Rishta" where he portrayed the character of Manav. Sushant soon rose to fame and was spotted by casting director Mukesh Chhabra after which he bagged a role in "Kai Po Che!".
The actor was found dead in his apartment on June 14, 2020.
